JakoJako is a live performer, a real sound wizard. She was influenced by the darker, harder and more experimental sides of Berlin’s club scene which led her to an intuitive sense about the fundamentals of dance music. Her music is filled with intricate details, often originating from field recordings and live sampling that keep the listener’s mind subconsciously engaged in associations and distant memories.
Even though knowledge, craft, control and effort are indispensable for JakoJako’s approach, it becomes clear that these are not ends in themselves. They serve a strong artistic vision that enriches Berlin’s spectrum of electronic music with a singular voice of exceptional drive and purpose.
